Director Bios
John C. Wang
John Wang is President and a founding member of PCRS Capital Partners, an early-stage
venture investment firm. A visionary and entrepreneur, John has been instrumental
in the formation, development and direct investment of over thirty operating companies
since 1985.
After completion of Bank of America's management training program, John held the
position as Managing Director of South Bay Capital Corporation, a Small Business
Investment Company and part of the federal SBA program. John was successful in placement
of debt and equity financing.
Currently a Board Member of General Bancorp, a Los Angeles based financial institution
with over $2 billion in assets. Actively involved in the strategic planning of the
Bank, he was influential in the company's formation of GBC Venture Capital in 1998.
John serves as a member of the Executive Loan Committee and is a Board representative
of the Banks Community Reinvestment Committee.
With a long history in the hospitality industry, John is an expert in Real Estate
Investment and management. John is the President and founding member of Pacific
Coast Realty Services Inc. and a partner of VenQuest Hotel Group, which owns and
manages a portfolio of hotels and commercial properties throughout the United States.
A community leader, John serves on the board of numerous non-profit organizations
and foundations. John is a graduate of University of Southern California in the
field of Finance and Real Estate.
Ted Hsieh
Ted is a founding member of PCRS Capital Partners. A 16 year veteran of the chip
industry, Ted brings a combination of senior management experience in engineering,
operations, and sales. As the Director of Operations for LSI Logic's Worldwide Customer
Engineering organization, Ted's organization is responsible for coordinating the
design activities of LSI Logic and its worldwide distributors that will generate
more than $1B in business for the company. Additional responsibilities include managing
engineering P&Ls, overseeing corporate business and engineering processes, and
leveraging the internet to aid in running a global organization.
Having managed more than half of LSI Logic's North American Design Centers, Ted
is also a sales and engineering process expert who is responsible for LSI Logic's
implementation of the SAPproject System module, an enterprise resource planning
tool that will provide real time feedback on any LSI engineering project in the
world. This system will be the foundation for E-commerce initiatives that he will
be pursuing this year for the corporation.
Passionate about employee and organizational development, Ted has been a driving
force at LSI in establishing and reviewing potential employee staffing and development
programs to raise the quality of its personnel and its organizations. One
of these programs was a successful engineering rotation program that has been the
model for other rotation programs at the company. Outside of LSI, Ted has
also been involved with providing consultation to various businesses and rganizations.
Ted is also actively involved in various community, academic and church organizations,
having served as the Chairman of the Metamorphosis Leadership and Management Conferences,
participating in the USC Marshall School of Business Admissions Committee, and presently
directing the Cornerstone Fellowship Leadership Team, while also serving as an Elder
and Trustee for the Formosan Presbyterian Church of Orange County.
Ted has an MBA from the University of Southern California with concentrations in
International Business, Marketing and New Venture Management and a B.S. degree in
Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
Ken Okajima
Ken Okajima is a founding member of PCRS Capital Partners. Ken brings 20 years of
operations management experience ranging from telecommunications and engineering
to real estate development. As a quality improvement consultant during the divestiture
of the Bell Operating Companies, he was involved in the facilitation of executive
level re-engineering of AT&T's Information Systems division and Marketing Group
to prepare to enter the non-monopolistic environment.
A certified trainer and expert in improving processes, he implemented practices
at A.C. Martin & Associates to improve the delivery of engineering services
to clients such as Manufacturer's Life Insurance, Hutton Development Corporation,
City of Los Angeles, and Shuwa Investments.
Ken joined the Wang Partnership in 1991 as a project manager overseeing the operations
and construction of approximately $30 million in real estate and operating assets.
Transforming this company into PCRS, Inc., his responsibilities have grown to encompass
over $100 million in assets invested in a variety of operating businesses and real
estate assets. Currently, Ken is the managing director for PCRS overseeing development
and management of investment projects as well as heading the PCRS Media Group (PMG)
and actively participates in the management of investments for PCRS Capital
Partners.
Over the past 19 years, Ken has advised and/or been involved in the start-up of
a multitude of businesses, including a computer consulting firm, a recording studio,
a DJ and entertainment company, and a retail food chain which has grown
to nine units.
In addition, Ken is involved in his community providing leadership, strategic planning,
development of systems and coaching to numerous civic and cultural organizations
including Toyota Grand Prix or Long Beach City College, SFS,
Ken is currently on sabbatical serving
Newsong Community Church as the Director of Operations.
Ken is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.S. degree in
Finance and Business Economics.
